Granting this authority would be a significant step toward making our state quieter, cleaner, healthier and more inhabitable for those who reside and work here.
There is a growing national movement to ban the use of gas-powered leaf blowers (GLBs). Well over one hundred towns, cities, and counties in the U.S., have already banned or restricted their use. Washington, D.C. passed a year round ban in 2019, which went into effect in January, 2022. Montgomery County, MD, did so in July 2023, which will go into effect in July, 2025.
The time is now for the Virginia General Assembly to allow local governments in our State to join the movement to ban gas powered leaf blowers should they choose to do so!
Join the movement for quieter, cleaner, healthier communities.
