The Montclair, NJ, gas leaf blower ban has time restrictions on electric leaf blowers. No rebates offered. Employers must provide landscape workers with protective gear (not defined.) In Oct 2023, a consortium of 14 landscapers sued Montclair over the ban. They lost, appealed, and lost again. Enforcement: Contact Code Enforcement office to report violations and request immediate response.

Rye City, plans a year round ban. For 3rd violation $10,000! (Rye City already has a seasonal ban.)
The first ban in PA: Lower Merion Township, seasonal bans effective June 1st, 2026. Year-round ban in 2029. Fines: after a warning, the first offense is $100, the second $250 if within 12 months of the first offense and $600 for a third or more offense within the same 12-month period of the first offense.
