Our lobby day in Richmond, Jan 11, 2024.?A group us visited delegates and senators (or their legislative aides) on the Counties Cities and Towns Committee (House) and the Local Government Committee (Senate) to ask them to support our bill. Above photo shows us at our small rally in Capitol Square at 1 PM. The Richmond Times-Dispatch sent out two reporters and posted a short video and front page article . Patch also published an article with a photo of Senator Salim. Ivy Main from Virginia Mercury did an article so charming and convincing we sent it to many of the delegates.
At the rally, by way of protest, to draw attention to the sheer obnoxious loudness and pollution of gas leaf blowers, five of us walked around the area with (rented) gas leaf blowers fired up full throttle cleaning the sidewalks free of charge for the city of Richmond. No one tried to stop us!

Quiet Clean NOVA also supported HB 953 (Alfonso Lopez), the local environmental impact bill:
Any locality may by ordinance create a permanent fund to grant monies to residents or locally owned businesses for the mitigation of environmental impacts. Such grants shall be used only for the purchase of energy efficient (i) lawn care and landscaping equipment, (ii) home appliances, (iii) HVAC equipment, or (iv) micromobility devices.
